In order to rapidly develop the container business of our city and promote the development of regional economy more effectively, Pizhou Dongfang Port actively develops the container marine line business from the aspects of market research, customer development, route operation, etc., and officially signed a cooperation agreement with Yuzhou Shipping Container Co., Ltd. of  Lianyungang Port Group in July 2019 to open up the sea-river water transport container logistics transportation route from Lianyungang to Pizhou Dongfang Port. 

In the morning of September 27, 2019, the 1277 freighter of Lianyungang (Jiangsu Province), fully loaded with 34 containers, docked at the Dongfang Port of Pizhou City, marking the official opening and operation of the sea-river water transport container logistics and transportation route, which would realize the demand of resource exchange in our city. At present, Dongfang Port has formed cooperative relations with many enterprises to provide them with logistics, trade and other services.

The container ship starts from Lianyungang Port, passes through the ports of  Huaian, Siyang, Suqian, etc., and finally reaches Dongfang Port. The voyage only takes three days, which greatly improves the convenience, timeliness and reduces the logistics cost.

In the future, the containers shipped from the surrounding areas of Pizhou can be interconnected with the main ports at home and abroad through Dongfang port, so as to realize the "Borrowing Port for going to sea" and effectively promote the economic development of our city.
